La Creedence
A rock bar in A Coruña where a love of music and a love of good beer meet every day. A place to take your time, discover new beers and share songs, gigs and nights worth remembering.
How this started
La Creedence's story didn't begin with us, but it carries on with us. In late 2018 we had the chance to take over a bar that was already a landmark for rock fans, beer lovers and everyone who knew the streets around Riazor. There was one very clear condition: that La Creedence should stay La Creedence. We had no trouble agreeing to that.
Before it became La Creedence, the place was called Las Jarras. Over the years it found a character of its own, built on two ingredients: good music and good beer. When we arrived we chose to respect that and add our own touches, keeping the down-to-earth feel that had always defined the bar.
The first months were intense. We had to earn the trust of regulars who had spent years treating La Creedence as a second home, and they confirmed something we already suspected: the best bars are the ones that make people feel part of them.
Where the name comes from
The name comes from one of the most influential bands in rock history: Creedence Clearwater Revival. Their music has been part of this bar's DNA from day one and still plays regularly within these walls. Like John Fogerty's songs, we like things honest, direct and free of frills.
Over time, La Creedence has become far more than a name above the door. It's a way of understanding this bar: somewhere anyone can feel at home. Rock is a big part of who we are, and few bands capture that spirit better.
8 taps that keep changing
If anything defines us besides the music, it's beer. Our 8 taps are constantly rotating because we like to always have something different on. We look for beers that surprise, from easy-drinking pints to more demanding ones for anyone wanting to explore new styles.
Every changeover is a chance to try something new. We enjoy recommending, explaining and helping you choose. Knowing a lot about beer isn't the point; enjoying it is.
The taps are backed up by a wide range of bottles and cans from Spanish and international breweries. If you don't know where to start, just ask: we'll happily find one that suits you.
Live music and Dépor matchdays
Here rock isn't decoration or a playlist: it's part of the bar's identity. Through the year we put on gigs in close quarters, the kind where players and audience share the same space and the same energy. We like intimate sets, local talent and the nights when one good song gets the whole room singing at once.
When there's live music, La Creedence changes gear. Conversations drop a little, the beer keeps flowing and the bar turns into a small stage.
And then there are Dépor matchdays. A few steps from Riazor, we live every game with an intensity that's hard to explain from the outside. Hours before kick-off you can feel it on the street: friends meeting up, fans swapping predictions and a bar running flat out with rock and roll on.
One of our favourite traditions is the Dépor prediction game. Every fixture brings arguments, friendly rivalry and unexpected celebrations. More than a game, it's a way of bringing people together around football and building community, which for us has always mattered as much as the music or the beer.
At Manuel Murguía, 32
We've spent years doing what we love most: pouring good beer, playing good music and building a place you always feel like coming back to. Whether it's to try something new on the taps, catch a gig, warm up before a Dépor game or just have a drink with friends, the door is open.
We're on Avenida de Manuel Murguía, right beside the Riazor stadium, level with the Marathon Tower and just the other side of it, where Riazor beach ends. If you're heading to the football, we're on your way.
Because La Creedence isn't only a rock bar or a specialist beer place: it's a meeting point for people who enjoy simple things done well. A song that comes on at exactly the right moment, a perfectly poured pint and a conversation that runs longer than planned.
Drop in whenever you like
You don't need to be a beer expert or know every rock record by heart to feel at home in La Creedence. You just need to turn up ready for a good time and let the music do the rest.
There's always a cold beer here, a familiar song in the background and the kind of atmosphere that makes it easy to stay longer than you meant to.
The first beer is your choice. The next one, if you like, is our recommendation.
